HERITAGE ON SUNDAY - Classic Vehicles Sunday 15 March 2015

This was our second Heritage on Sunday event - on the third Sunday of the month.

Visitors were greeted out the front of the Museum by a classic green Morris Oxford Estate.

After touring the two storey main building, originally the Highercombe Hotel, visitors made their way to the gardens to be greeted by a 1965 Ford Mustang coupe and two early Holdens.

Near the 'Vines to Wines' display were two early motorcycles. The first was a Radco manufactured by E A Radnall & Co of Birmingham, with a direct belt drive. The second was a 1929 Sunbeam - still in good working order in an un-restored state.

Those venturing further to view the blacksmith shop, were met by a beautifully maintained red Dodge Brothers pickup.

The afternoon was very enjoyable for 36 visitors, helped by the very pleasant weather. Almost half finished their tour with a tea or coffee with scone, jam and cream, rather than rushing straight off.
